Gallery Hosting InformationThe SCAA Gallery is cozy and charming local art gallery located in an Old Town Newhall Historic Building. We can accommodate approximately 20 artists per show, with each artist displaying 2-3 pieces of wall art. We also display smaller tabletop artwork, fine crafts, prints, and greeting cards. SCAA has beautifully renovated our building’s shady courtyard. This area in addition to space in front of our building is utilized for Artists Receptions, demo artists, and for showing additional work while hosting.
Each show in will last for two months with six completely new shows during the year. We will be open most weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday) during the afternoon and evening. The hours will vary with the season. March through October, we plan to be open Thursday evenings as well while the city is hosting Senses on Main events. Exhibiting artists are required to host four three-hour shifts during an 8-week show. Hosting artists will be able to bring additional cards, prints, and a few extra pieces of framed, original art to display on outdoor easels while they are hosting. A “Call to Artists” will be emailed to all SCAA members for each show along with pertinent information and dates associated with the show. Artists will electronically submit photos of their art to be considered for each show along with an on-line application. All art displayed will be selected by a jurying process. After the artwork for each show has been selected, another email with the Sign-Up Genius will be emailed to all show participants so they can select their four hosting dates. An entry fee of $15.00 will be in effect for each show along with a 25% SCAA commission charged on items sold during the show. We hope that all SCAA members will participate in our gallery. It belongs to you, and we need you to promote your Gallery to friends and patrons. We also need to support your fellow artists by coming to the receptions, visiting the gallery often, offering to give demonstrations of your art, and volunteering your time to host or help. Our organization runs on volunteers, and all of us working together help educate our community about the value that art has in our lives. SCAA members are local art ambassadors, and we provide a unique art venue for our Santa Clarita neighbors!
