Frank has been interpreting the world around him with pen, pencil and paintbrush since childhood, when he filled margins of his notebooks with doodles, faces, landscapes and characters. After a hiatus to raise a family, he began doing murals for friends and local businesses and started collecting followers.
He did a few municipal art projects and garnered private commissions, which led to work on canvas and theatrical set design and chalk. He’s painted walls, floors and ceilings and sculpted surfaces. His murals, each a unique interpretation, grace dining room walls and palatial entryways, are featured prominently in historic parks and downtown, even gracing a few three-dimensional grizzly bears. He has been commissioned several times by the City of Santa Clarita, with prominent works in Veteran’s Plaza and several locations in Old Town Newhall. He created a living mural at Valencia High School, his “Wall of Angels” mural at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills offers solace to visitors. and he brought to life the legacy of apricot farming in a triptych at Strathern Historic Park in Simi Valley.
