SCAA Art Exhibit at Old Town Newhall Library

                                               The City of Santa Clarita invites members of the Santa Clarita Artist Association to exhibit their art at the Old Town Newhall Library. Theme: Season of Discovery with emphasis on looking at the world through discovery and point of view. All artists must be current members of SCAA.

• Each artist must fill out the submission form on the SCAA website santaclaritaartists.org using the link below, listing all works submitted to the show. This is a juried show and space is limited. Large pieces will be considered.  Up to four pieces of wall art may be submitted. The following information must be included: Artist name, Title of work, Size, Medium, and Contact information (email)
• IT IS IMPORTANT TO LABLE YOUR JPEG FILES CORRECTLY! The label should include the artist's name and title of the artwork in this format: vincent_vangogh_starrynight.jpeg
• When Uploading your files, please make sure you RENAME your image name BEFORE uploading. If you do not do this there is no way to keep track of images. 
  
• Accepted artwork must be labeled on the back with artist’s name and title and contact information.
• Decision of acceptance of artwork is final.

 

Please review the following deadlines and requirements:

• Deadline entry. August 15, 2023. Deadline to submit work.
• August 26, 2023 – Acceptance email to artists.
• August 28, 2023. -Finalized information for art tags.
• September 22, 2023 – Each artist must review, sign, and submit a Group Exhibition Contract no later than September 22nd before installation of their artwork. (This will be email to you upon acceptance)
• Artwork must be framed and/or hang-ready and wired. Artwork which is not wired will not be exhibited.
• The City of Santa Clarita staff execute all arrangement and installation of artwork.
• Art Drop-Off Date: September 22 / Time TBA.
• Note: Artwork must be hand-delivered and picked up by the artist or their representative at the Old Town Newhall Library. Artwork cannot be mailed.  
• Art Drop-off Location: Old Town Newhall Library, 24500 Main St, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 
• Exhibition Timeframe: September 22 – December 29, 2023
• Santa Clarita City Policy: It is stated in the contract that artwork must be on display during the duration of the exhibit and cannot be removed earlier. This is standard procedures and expectations within the arts industry for exhibits. We proudly offer multiple exhibits around Santa Clarita for local and nonresidents to showcase their artwork free of charge, in return we ask that our city’s policies are respected. Early removal of artwork before the exhibit has ended will affect an artist’s ability to participate in future opportunities with the City of Santa Clarita’s art and exhibits programs.
