Artist Statement
I’m a self-taught artist and began painting about 10 years ago, following other artists and experimenting with different mediums, until I fell in love with oils. I like the way the brush with oil paint slides on the canvas.
The way I start a new piece, is to collect images, photos and ideas of several artists and then make it my own
My work is eclectic, a mix of styles and then combine them to become landscapes, winter scenes, fruits and flowers with a contemporary, traditional or transitional flavor.
Besides being born in Brazil, my paintings are influence from artists around the world, from England, Russia, Brazil, Germany, etc…
Mostly I paint because it is therapeutic and relaxes me. It takes me to places that I’ve never been to before. It is like making a book with images only, and no words.
My major was in a totally unrelated profession and painting has been the best way to express myself.
I hope my pieces stay in your memory as an inspiration, as someone who was inspired by others.
