As the bright, high-energy colors of summer begin to fade, we invite you to transition quietly into autumn with Sticks and Stones.

​This show is all about embracing a shift in season, moving toward a space of zen calm, reflection, and natural retreat.​

🌿 The Vibe & Inspiration
We want to fill the gallery with the soothing, grounding essence of the natural world. Think organic textures, serene compositions, and warm, earthy tones that evoke the quiet feeling of a forest floor or a peaceful riverbed. Consider elements like:
  • Organic Forms & Zen Concepts: Tree limbs, weathered wood, roots, and botanical silhouettes. Art that captures feelings of stillness, balance, reflection, and grounding.
  • Serene Textures & Earthbound Palettes: Smooth river rocks, rough bark, sand, and stone in deep ochres or muted terracottas.
  • Tactile Materials: Get creative! This theme is the perfect home for fine art pottery, clay sculptures, woodworking, turning, and mixed media pieces incorporating real leaves, bark, or fiber.
(Note: While riverbeds and stones are perfect inspiration, please keep the visual focus on earth/terrain rather than flowing water.)

  • Acceptance Notification: Tuesday, August 18
  • Artwork Drop-Off: Tuesday, September 1, 3:00–6:00 PM
  • Exhibition Dates: September 4–27
  • Artist Reception: Saturday, September 5, 5:00–8:00 PM
  • Artwork Pickup: Tuesday, September 29, 3:00–6:00 PM
*SCAA is not responsible for artwork left at the gallery after the scheduled pickup date/time. Dates/times subject to change.

Gallery Standards & Guidelines

The SCAA Gallery strives to highlight local artists at all stages of their creative journeys, providing a premier public stage to showcase and sell original fine art within the Santa Clarita Valley. Maintaining this privileged space requires an absolute commitment to elite professional standard.

Our primary focus is the guest and collect experience. To cultivate a thriving exhibition environment that drives art sales and honors our history and patrons, all exhibitors must align with strict, consistent presentation criteria. Before launching your entry form below, you must thoroughly review and accept our expectations and regulations. 
    Group Member Show Submission
    Submit your work for consideration by filling out all fields as instructed. Missing data may affect your entry. If you are not yet a member of SCAA, please COMPLETE YOUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION prior to submitting to the exhibition.

    Prepare For Submission:
    • Read our required Guidelines to understand all artwork and hosting requirements
    • Have the following information ready:
      • Artwork title
      • Medium
      • Dimensions (Final presentation size, including frame)
      • Price (All artwork must be for sale)
      • High-Resolution Image (JPG or PNG - File names must include artist name and artwork title: FirstLast_ArtworkTItle)
      • Note: Images submitted should be cropped to the edges of the artwork only with no mats, frames, or distracting backgrounds in view. The only exception is sculpture/3D artwork presented with a clean, neutral background. Files not cropped properly will be trimmed, altering the final image presented to the Art Selection Committee and will not be utilized in promotions.
    Important Notice: Your official gallery wall tags and price labels are printed automatically using the exact data you submit on the form below. Please double-check your spelling, titles, and pricing before finalizing your entry.

    Artist Contact & Membership Status

    Artwork Submissions (Up to 4)

    All 2D and 3D artwork must be original and free of copyright or trademark infringement. No classwork or instructor-led work, AI, or video accepted. Submissions must not have been accepted into a Member SCAA Gallery Group Show in the last 2 years. Work depicting sexualized nudity, adult language, divisive messages, or work that does not fit the prospectus will not be considered.

    Submission Agreement

    By submitting this form, you certify that you have read and agree to all rules outlined in the SCAA Gallery Guidelines, including mandatory gallery hosting shifts and responsibilities, SCAA sales commission policies, and that artwork may be refused if not properly prepared for safe installation and professional presentation.
