2021 Scholarship Winners

The Santa Clarita Artists Association provides scholarships to student artists in our community, available to all High School senior art students in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students must be graduating seniors with plans to continue their education in the visual arts field. The Association awards three scholarships: $1000, $750 and $500. The Scholarship committee met with high school senior art student applicants via Zoom in 2021. Those students meeting the criteria were considered for awards. Winners will be asked to have their artwork available for display at the Awards Ceremony and/or virtual exhibits.  The Scholarship Committee has chosen 2 winners they are:
Paulina Gruzdev
Erica Lim
1st Place Winner ($1000)
1st place, attends Saugus High
Anna Park
Olivia Bates
2nd Place Winner ($750)
2nd place, attends West Ranch High.

The Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA) provides scholarships to student artists in our community, available to all High School senior art students in the Santa Clarita Valley.
  • Students must be graduating seniors with plans to continue their education in the visual arts field.
  • The Association awards three scholarships: $1000, $750, and $500.
  • During a 20 minute interview, students should be prepared to include written or oral synopses of artwork if presented via electronic device. Additionally, if physical artwork is unavailable, it may be represented through photographs.
  • Interview will take place in person in 2023 at the 6th Street Gallery. 
  • Winners will be asked to have their artwork available for display at the  Gala  Art Show Classic and Awards Ceremony.

Applicants should note the following important dates:
  • March 20, 2023- Deadline to email and register for an interview
  • Interview dates TBA (after school hours)

To apply, write a one-page artist statement including:
  • Full Name
  • Current High School / Art teacher's name
  • Material/Media such as, painting, digital, pencil, pastels
  • Your reason for creating art
  • Your process for making art, especially if it's unconventional or important to understand the work
  • Future plans and goals. including education, future careers in the arts
  • Attach 3 to 5 images f your art work
  • Please label each image: Your Name_Title of Work
  • Please include any other information you want to share
  • Parent(s) or gardian(s) name and email
  • All correspondences will be shared with your parent(s) or gardian(s) via email

Your Application for scholarship will be reviewed by our committee and you will be contacted for an in person interview.
Interviews will take place in March 2023 at the Santa Clarita Gallery.
