SCAA Scholarship Awards
The Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA) provides scholarships to student artists in our community, available to all High School senior art students in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Applicants should note the following important dates:

- Students must be graduating seniors with plans to continue their education in the visual arts field.
- The Association awards three scholarships: $1000, $750, and $500.
- During a 20 minute interview, students should be prepared to include written or oral synopses of artwork if presented via electronic device. Additionally, if physical artwork is unavailable, it may be represented through photographs.
- Winners will be asked to have their artwork available for display at the Awards Ceremony.
Applicants should note the following important dates:
- March 16 Deadline to register for an interview
- March 23, 24, and 25 Interview dates (after school hours)

2020 Scholarship Winners
Each year the Santa Clarita Artists Association (SCAA) raises funds to provide scholarships to high school graduating senior art students in the Santa Clarita Valley, with plans to continue their education in the arts field.
The interviews could not be held in person due to Covid-19 quarantine restrictions, so the interviews were held via Zoom, after normal school hours. During the 20-minute interview, students came prepared to present synopses of their artwork. Interview questions were aimed to ascertain the student's inspiration for specific artworks, famous artists influences and future goals in the art fields.
"The decision was difficult with the remarkable talent of all the applicants. Along with cash awards, the winners will receive a year membership to the SCAA and will be displaying some of their work at our Annual Art Classic Gala in October, " said Committee Chair Laurie Morgan. The committee includes: Laurie Morgan, Lynda Frautnik, and Meressa Naftulin.
