SCAA proud to celebrate member, Jane Mick, whose illuminating mixed-media fine art has been selected for a featured solo showcase at The MAIN theatre and gallery space in Old Town Newhall!
About the Artist & Creative Process
Jane Mick is a full-time, award-winning visual artist whose creative journey began long before she dedicated herself entirely to the canvas. Armed with a professional background in fashion design and graphic art, Jane developed a deep, lifelong appreciation for intricate detail, structural elegance, and tangible texture—qualities that continue to define her distinctive fine art style today. After retiring from her previous creative careers, she fully embraced her artistic passion, bringing with her a unique ability to blend high-end sophistication and playful fun into every custom piece she builds. As a dedicated lover of mixed media, Jane’s physical artistic process begins by heavily texturing her raw canvas before applying rich acrylic paints. Drawing directly from her past fashion design experience, she enjoys adding intricate, hand-placed layers of detail and luxury embellishments—such as shimmering Swarovski crystals and genuine gold leaf—to dramatically enhance the visual interest and elegance of her work. These elements bring a brilliant touch of "bling" that beautifully reflects her fondness for glamour, catching the gallery light and creating a rich, sensory viewing experience.
