The Heart of Our Creative Community

Whether you are a seasoned professional, a beginner exploring a new medium, or an art lover, you belong here. You do not need to be an SCAA member to join us – bring a friend and share in the inspiration!

While painting is a large part of our community, the core principles of design, color theory, and creativity cross all boundaries. If you work in clay, digital media, glass, sculpture, fiber arts, photography, or paint, your unique voice is welcome.

Meet the Artist & Learn their story

SCAA is thrilled to welcome Westlake Village artist Carmen Lamp for a live, technical pastel demonstration. Working primarily in soft pastel on sanded paper, Carmen is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast and is widely recognized for her expressive coastal scenes, ocean waves, and landscapes that capture fleeting moments of atmospheric light and color. Come explore her professional techniques and learn how she translates the raw energy of shifting water onto the canvas

What to Expect at a General Meeting

• Quick Community Updates: We kick off each evening with 10–15 minutes of quick SCAA announcements and upcoming opportunities, keeping business short so we can focus on the art!
• Live Guest Artist Demo: The rest of our night is dedicated to an educational, live demonstration by a professional artist. Our environment is casual and interactive, and questions are always welcome.
• Original Art Raffle: Come for the education, stay for the connection—and you might even get lucky! Many of our guest artists generously raffle off an original painting or print at the end of the night.

⚠️ Schedule Note: SCAA general meetings are held monthly, but we do not meet in June or December due to our annual member BBQ and holiday party. Meeting dates may occasionally shift due to library scheduling; updates will be posted here.
