Otto Stürcke was born in 1971 and grew up in Southern California. Primarily self-taught, Stürcke joined the U.S. Marine Corps in hopes of attaining financial aid to attend an art college. His plans were momentarily altered in 1991 when he was called to serve in Desert Storm. Soon after his military service, Stürcke enrolled in art workshops and courses at several local art associations and colleges while launching his illustration career under the mentorship of Mike Butkus. Working as an illustrator served Stürcke for honing many techniques and found pastels to be his principal medium of choice. For more of Otto's Bio check out his website http://sturckestudio.com/about

Growing up in the San Fernando Valley, Abby Diamond studied a variety of art techniques, including papier-mache, sculpting, and painting. Inspired by her love for nature, her torn-paper mosaic landscapes combine methods and theory learned from oil, watercolor and Chinese brush painting, creating pure expressions of color, layer, shape, and texture. Abby has shown her work in the 2017 Art in the Arthouse exhibit at the Pasadena Laemmle Theatre, and the McGroarty Arts Center in Tujunga, where she currently lives. She is a member of the Collage Artist of America, Chatsworth Fine Arts Council, and the Women's Caucus for Art. Her piece entitled "Yucca" was the cover art for the official publication of the California State Poetry Society's publication, California Quartely, issue 44/1.

"I was introduced to painting on Yupo paper in a class run by Barbara Stutheit in Laguna. Someone brought in a few sheets of Yupo plastic paper that you could paint watercolor on and actually make changes because of the slick surface. My style fit right in with the characteristics of the surface, and 3000+ paintings later, I'm still using it," said Davidson. After graduating from Art Center College of Design as an illustrator major, Davidson became a freelance illustrator, working in a small design studio with fellow Art Center students for a couple of years until it closed. He then worked as a freelance illustrator for the next 20-25 years, and finally transitioned into fine art....specifically watercolor. "Back in the 70's, I was a struggling illustrator trying to support a wife, four kids, a few cats and maintaining a fixer-upper Victorian farmhouse in Old Town Orange. Now with awards too numerous to account here, I do demos and Yupo workshops so other people can learn the vagaries of the material without going completely insane. Some artists actually stick with it...in the meantime, I have been spending about 50% of my time in oils, plein aire and studio and winning awards there too," said Davidson.
