The desire to create came from my mother, who loved drawing, painting with oils and playing the piano. From an early age, my creative outlets were dancing, and arts and crafts. I was given formal ballet lessons at age six through seventeen, performed in annual recitals, and was fortunate enough to be chosen to perform with the New York City Ballet company at age 11 at the Greek Theater. I went on to study in San Francisco and in New York with the School of American Ballet at Juliard at age 16 after multiple auditions.

Though my main creative focus was dance, I loved exploring different kinds of arts and needle crafts. In college, I met my husband, and my career focus became elementary education. Through primary and secondary colors, tissue, paper and scissors, we created many enjoyable projects.

Though busy with my three boys, I began painting murals for family and friends which led to some paid commissioned work as well. I took workshops in oils, airbrushing, and other multi media when time permitted.

Nature is a strong theme in much of my art, especially in watercolors. As well, the human face and body, especially in motion, is a favorite theme for my charcoal work. I tend to lean towards symbolism and messages in mixed media, and I love the qualities of texture and ephemera in this media.
