In this intimate, small-group studio environment, you will work up-close alongside Gloria to learn the spontaneous and addictive world of experimental printmaking. Learn how to pull beautiful, texturized monotypes and seamlessly blend them into stunning, multi-layered collage masterpieces.

The Gel Print/Collage Lab
In This 3-Hour Session, You Will Learn:

• Brayer techniques, paint application, and paper choice on a professional gel plate.
• Methods for capturing positive, negative, and ghost prints using stencils, stamps, and botanicals.
• How to pull intricate two-layer prints to build deep visual texture and color ways.
• Layout and cutting principles to integrate your prints into a finished fine art composition.
• Plus, Gloria offers specialized labs just for alums!

November 12, 10:00-2:00 play day for previous students or by my invitation. 
November 13, 9:00-12 new! Collage directly on plate and stencil play. Intermediate. 

11/13 "PlayDay" 
Two sessions at 50.00 each. the cost increase is due to the added time and increased paint use expected.
6 people per session 9:00-12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 (3 hours each)
If all day is desired student can bundle for both sessions and pay a discount at 80.00.
 I prefer that this play day is availabe to people who have taken a previous workshop with me including private lessons. Beginners may find the lack of detailed basic instruction frustrating. at registration please note returning participant or beginner so I can prep properly. (Note there is a beginner class in October).
Two demos per session and free use of stencils, turns at a large gel plates and other materials. One 5x7 mat and one 8x10 substrate provided for each participent. Two fun art supply raffles as well! One raffle in each session.

No experience needed. This class begins with a thorough 20 minute demo of the process. The participants will follow a directed collage procedure. Next print some papers and choose from book pages if desired. each person will use a 8x10 gel plate to create an image collaged directly on the plate. these will be left to dry over night. on the next day at 4:30 the reveal will be ready to pull!

Botanical Prints to Collage
Learn the art of gel print making 9–12 (break) and then turn your unique prints into a beautiful collage 1:30–4:30.

Over 2 days, in 3-hour sessions, you will:

• Discover your favorite gel prints
• Cut, tear, & layer pieces
• Arrange shapes, colors, & patterns
• Glue composition & add final details

Just choose your preferred Gel Print session time on Tuesday, 8/26 at 9:00 AM or 1:30 PM. If you'd love to also collage with your new prints, grab a bundle at registration and join us again for the collaging session on Friday, 8/28 at 9:00 AM! A second collage session may be added at 1:30 PM if there is enough interest.

Meet Your Instructor:
​Gloria Cassidy

Gloria Cassidy is a mixed media artist living in Santa Clarita who loves the process of storytelling. A native of Southern California, her childhood was surrounded by the opportunity and encouragement to create. After many years spent raising a family, she began making art full-time. Since 2010 she has been producing drawings, paintings, collages, and fiber art.

Her artistic practice includes drawing, painting, gel printing, and collage with symbolic language frequently featured, such as  nests, pomegranates, seed pods, representations of women, trees, and birds — each with layers of personal and universal significance.

Gloria also nurtures creativity through private and group classes, as well as her volunteer role at Agape Village Day Program where she provides art instruction to adults with special needs.
