  • General Information: The Art Classic Fine Art Competition exhibits the outstanding work of the SCAA members. This is a professionally judged event in all mediums with ribbons awarded in all categories. An Art Gala reception will be held to celebrate our members including the awards presentation.
     
    The SCAA Art Classic is our major yearly fundraiser that supports the SCAA scholarship program and local art enrichment programs. All artist entrants will have free entry to the Art Classic Gala. Additional tickets for the Gala may be purchased for $35 each. All artists are asked to sell additional tickets to this event. The Silent Auction at the Art Classic is a big part of our fundraiser. Please complete the additional Silent Auction form to add your donation. Small pieces of art, gift baskets, collectables, other donations sell well.
     
    PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. You must fill out all information below, then press SUBMIT (Step 1). After submission you can make your payment on the website. (Step 2)  If you fill out the information and do not press submit in Step 1 and move directly to the payment in Step 2, ALL of  your information (from Step 1) will NOT BE SAVED. And there will be no record of you entering the Art Classic.
  • PLEASE BE PATIENCE when submitting images it takes a few minutes to receive the Confirmation form. 
     
    Entry Requirements
  • SCAA members only. Membership applications are available at: http://www.santaclaritaartists.org
  • Artwork may not have been entered in a previous Art Classic
  • Artwork must be the original creation of the artist and not derived from another person’s image or artwork (Please read and sign Waiver Form). 
  • No incorporation of any clipart or any stock imagery into an artwork.
  • Artwork should have been created in the past three years.
  • No artwork prepared in a classroom or workshop may be entered.
  • Artists may enter (2) artworks not to exceed 27" x 27" (including frame) or (1) artwork larger than 27" x 27" (including the frame) but no larger than 48" x 48" (including the frame). No size limit on sculptures.  Artists may enter one sculpture and one small hanging piece (27" x 27") of art or 2 sculptures.
  • Fees are: This applies to both paintings and sculpture.  
    • $35 for (1) artwork 27" x 27" or smaller.
    • $45 for (2) artworks, each 27" x 27" or smaller, or 3D art.
    • $45 for one (1) artwork larger than 27" x 27" up to 48" x 48"
  • 2D work must be wired and ready to hang. Absolutely no saw tooth hangers. Canvas edges must be painted if no frame is used. NO WET PAINTINGS!
  • Sculptors are to supply their own pedestals
  • All artworks must be for sale.
 
Categories: The categories entered by the artist on the Entry Form are subject to change made by the Art Classic Committee. The Committee will determine the correct category for each piece. Changes made by the Art Classic Committee are final.

Masters Category is determined by the awards won and points earn in previous Art Classics. To become a Master artist, an accumulated score of 10 points must be obtained from the Art Classic Fine Arts Competition starting in 2009. Master points: Best of Show = 4 points, Gold = 3 points, Silver = 2 points. No points are given Merit or City Awards. If you quality, please make sure you enter the Master category when filling out the form.
 
Awards: Best of Show and a Gold (1st) and Silver (2nd), and Merit Awards in each category as determined by number of entries and judges scores. More than one Merit Award may be given by the judges. There is also an Excellence in Art Award is given by the City of Santa Clarita.
 
Dates to Remember:
  • Deadline for Entry, midnight, August 30, 2023
  • Delivery of Artwork to The Centre: Friday, September 29th, 2pm to 5:30pm.
  • Delivery of all Silent Auction items to The Centre: Friday, Sept. 29, 2pm to 5:30pm.
  • Gala reception and Awards: Saturday, Sept 30th, 1:00 pm to 5 pm
  • Free Public Viewing: Sunday, October 1st, 10 am. to 4pm (no early removal)
  • Pick up Art: Sunday, October 1st, 4pm to 5pm
  • October 16, SCAA meeting at Barnes and Noble, Valencia, 6:30 pm.  All winners are requested to bring their winning art to the meeting to share with the membership.
 
How to Entry
  • Fill out the Entry form and pay your entry fee on the website. 
  • Download, print and sign the waiver form. Bring this form to drop-off. OR Sign the Wavier below.
  • Download, print out Art name tags. Attach to your artwork and bring to The Center when you bring in your artwork on Sept. 29th.
  • Download and Print out the Silent Auction donation form and mail in per the directions. Make copies if you are donating more than one item.

    2023 Art Classic Waiver

    I certify that I have read the requirements of the Art Classic as stated in the Call to Artists and each artwork entered is my original work and not derived from another person’s image or artwork, or work done in a classroom or workshop. Any art work, or photograph that is not original IS NOT allowed in the Art Classic Show. I understand that in the event of a misrepresentation, the work submitted may be ineligible and any awards I received may be revoked.
     
    I understand that a 25% commission will be paid to the SCAA if my artwork is sold while on display at the Art Classic Venue.  The Santa Clarita Artists Association, the SCAA board members, the venues agents, employees and assistants assume no responsibility for loss, theft, damage or destruction of any artwork during handling or exhibiting of any artwork. 
    By checking the "I Agree" button below, I state that I agree to the terms above. If you do not agree, no need to continue with registration.
    Please be patience! The process takes a few minutes.
    ​Once the submit button has been clicked, the Registration form will disappear and a small text message will appear stating your information has been received. You will then click to button to go back to Registration form and pay your fee.
    Please click on the "Submit" button below before going to step 2 to pay your entry fee.

PLEASE HELP SUPPORT OUR SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Please donate a piece of original art or other exciting item for the Silent Auction at this year’s Art Classic.
  • Members do not need to enter the Art Classic to donate for the silent auction.
  • All members can contribute items. 
  • You may contribute more than one item. 
  • Ask your friends if they have something to contribute. Artwork donations include Original Art, Limited edition prints, and photography. Items must be framed and ready to hang. 
  • All donations will become the property of SCAA and if not sold will be kept and used at other raffles and auctions. 
  • Fill out one form for each item donated. 
  • Bring Silent Auction Donations when you bring your entries on the take-in-day, September 29, 2023.
