Entries received early have the best chance of being selected as our postcard art!
 
“Picture Perfect” is a photography show. I hope that all of our members who work in photography will enter. This show is for you! In addition, I encourage all of our artists who are not primarily photographers to find favorite photographs that you have taken and enter them.

  • Each artist must fill out the submission form on our website santaclaritaartists.org listing all works submitted to the show. Up to four pieces of wall art may be submitted to “Textures of Life”. The following information must be included: Artist name, Title of work, Price, and Medium.
  • IT IS IMPORTANT TO LABLE YOUR JPEG FILES CORRECTLY! The label should include the artist's name and title of the artwork in this format: mardilangeorgio_patience.jpeg
  • All work must be photographed in such a way that it is clearly visible at 300 dpi with no mats or frames showing. 
  • Accepted work must be labeled on the back with artist’s name and title.
  • SCAA’s 25% gallery commission will apply if work is sold.
  • There is a $15 gallery fee to enter.​​                
You must fill out the registration form completely in order to submit the form.
    **Please make sure your "CAPS LOCK" button is off and only capitalize the appropriate letters. This is for tag uniformity***

PLEASE READ the following NEW Gallery Guidelines:

 2023 SCAA Guidelines for Gallery Shows
 
WALL ART
  • Accepted wall art must be framed with the exception of 1 ½” deep gallery-wrapped canvases which must have the edges painted. 
  • Art on unique substrates or odd shapes including wall sculptures will be considered on an individual basis.
  • Frames are to be of good quality without scratches or dents.
  • Wall art must be wired for hanging. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed.
  • Wall art must be labeled on the back with title and artist name.
PRINT/ART RACK
  • Artists may bring up to five prints or original art no more than 1/3 inch thick for the art rack. 
  • All art rack art must be backed, in clear protective bags, and clearly labeled as a print or an original with artist’s name and price.  Title is optional. 
GREETING CARDS
  • Artists may bring up to fifteen greeting or notecards for the card rack. Cards may be no bigger than 7”x5”.
  • Cards are to be in clear protective sleeves and clearly labeled with artist’s name and price.
TABLETOP ART and GIFT ITEMS
  • In addition to accepted wall art, artists may bring up to four pieces of tabletop art or gift items. All items must be no taller than 12”.
  • Tabletop original art should be framed with the exception of gallery-wrapped canvases, works measuring under 4”x 6”, or works on unique substrates in which cases edges should be painted or finished.
  • Gift items may be individual artistic products, jewelry, sets of notecards, or small baskets of multiple similar items. 
  • Jewelry will be accepted in the order of submission to each show, four artists maximum.
  • Each accepted artist will get assigned one shelf 15”Wx13”Dx15”H in our glass cabinet to display their jewelry.
  • All items are to be clearly labeled with artist name and price.  Title is optional.
BUSINESS CARDS AND OTHER PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS
  • Artists are encouraged to bring 15-20 business cards measuring no more than 2” x 3.5” either vertically or horizontally
  • 15 Postcards for art shows in which the artist is participating may be displayed.  No other long term promotional materials are permitted.
GALLERY PROCEDURES
  • All written gallery procedures contained in the white binder on the desk are to be followed.
HOSTING
  • Unless there is an emergency, each participating artist is responsible for and agrees to host the required number of shifts within the duration of the show. This is usually 4 three-hour shifts, but may vary depending on number of participating artists. 
  • If the hosting artist cannot host their required shift, they agree to find a replacement SCAA member host. 
  • Any participating artist in a nonemergency situation who does not fulfill their hosting requirements will be ineligible to participate in the next SCAA gallery show. 
ADDITIONAL ART
  • When hosting, artists may bring one additional original artwork to be displayed on an SCAA easel (or two if providing their own double easel) or five small artworks or gift items to be displayed on the middle or bottom shelf of the glass shelving pending space available.
  • All extra artwork must be taken home at the end of the hosting shift. 
  • No existing artwork may be moved to display the extra pieces. 
CREATING ARTWORK WHILE HOSTING
  • A hosting artist may use the gallery’s 4’ table to work on artwork. This table should only be set up near the desk or outside the gallery, never in the middle of the room. 
  • Any medium with an odor should not be used inside the gallery. Artists can set up outside of the gallery with their hosting partners permission. 
  • Artists working on artwork during their shift must take care to avoid spills or spatters. The cleanup of any spills will be the responsibility of the artist who made the spill.
ART SALES
  • When a piece of art sells, the artist who created it may bring a replacement piece. 
  • Gallery hosts should always notify a fellow artist if a piece of their art sells. Contact information is in the white binder for each show.
