I began drawing at the age of 5 and since
then have experimented with many mediums including: pen and ink, charcoal,
colored pencils, watercolor, acrylics, and oil. Although I still work with
some of these every once in a while, I always find myself coming back
to scratchboard.
My calligraphy instructor in high school first introduced me to this medium.
I was drawn to it (no pun intended) because of the amount of detail that the
medium allows. Animals are my favorite subjects.
I have won two awards at the SCAA's Annual Art Classic Gala, most recently a gold medal in 2008
for my “Macaw“ piece pictured here. I've
promised myself that 2010 will be a productive art year for me and I'm happy
to report that I have already completed 5 new pieces. Please
