If paint is North, pastels are East, pen and ink, pencil
and mixed media are South, and computer-generated imagery is West, I've enjoyed
all my travels in every direction and all sorts of points in between.
I was very fortunate to have parents who encouraged my
ability and ambition in art which began even before I could walk. By the time I
was eight my mother was driving me to art lessons beginning with drawing, then
later anatomy study, painting and pastel.
In my teens I knew that the reason I created art was
simply to make people happy. No matter what they experienced during the course
of their day, I wanted to be able to make them smile or feel better when they
viewed my art.

In my late teens I had begun selling paintings,
portraiture and ad design work for local businesses. Continuing to study various media, I became familiar with
digital art programs and began working in animation, titling, graphic design and
photo editing and retouching.
I still want people to smile and enjoy my work, but in the
last two years, given the direction life has been taking many people, I decided
to spread a more positive word with my digital art. I had developed a real love
for type so I began writing inspirational phrases which I layered in and amongst
large graphic images. These canvasses can be viewed at

I am a member of
several art and photography associations in southern California and am
constantly working on expanding my collection of original paintings and digital
art. I usually have prints available in various sizes and formats. To see an
assortment of my fine art and photo retouching, please have a look at my website
at

To fulfill the requirements of a little bio I wanted to
list my favorite media and subject matter, but I realized there are too many
things I love to create. I always have a painting/pastel area set up, my
computer ready to fire up and a place to play with mixed media pieces.
Inspiration is all over the place—for me, even on the news. I believe artists
should use their medium to say what’s on their mind.
In the last year I have enjoyed working with and
supporting the SCAA and have received encouragement and chances to exhibit
locally. The other member artists have been very supportive and giving of their
time and talents to create more art opportunities around the Santa Clarita
Valley.
