My
formal art training began at the Art Institute of
Chicago in my early teens. During the more than sixty years since that
auspicious start, I have never stopped searching and learning.
Thanks to having traveled and lived in many
fascinating cultures (with often exotic and long histories), I have been inspired to do
in-depth research into methods, motifs and materials used during the past seven
thousand years.
My work encompasses modern realities often in concert with clients who guide me to recreate their memories in paint or other media.

My joy comes from discovery of what was there but not seen before.

This much-loved rescue pet is owned by a master photographer. He wanted a painted portrait of her to show the many sides of her personality: sweet,
loving, energetic, fun - yes, but also a powerful presence requiring very firm discipline. As he says, Honey knows not seen before. that his wife is the
Alpha female in their household.

The client said, "Please paint for me a beautiful garden. I love lions and want them to be roaming free in this garden. It would be nice to show my two children playing with and among the lions. Also, I like old statues, a fountain, trees, and bushes." The final painting includes: statuary from museums around the world; landscape of Bay of Naples,
Italy; portraits of his children (from life); "portraits" of free roaming
lions (not from a zoo); a castle for his princess; a fountain from Hadrian's Villa and Trevi Fountain (Rome area). I have made the setting timeless. It was meant to be a
whole world into which the viewer could step, and follow the many paths to
promised wonders. Go up, go down, go deep into the distance. There are no limits
except imagination. Here you are always safe.
