My twin sister and
I attended the Chicago Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts when we lived in
Aurora, Illinois. I always
thought I would be a fashion illustrator. That
didn't happen. Upon moving to southern California I worked in the art
department of a major computer firm for several years. I did not do art
work but was surrounded by many creative people.
From there, I became the
Executive/Administrative secretary for both USC School of Medicine and the
California Institute of Technology. My artwork at this time consisted of
illustrating in-house publications for church
activities. Leaving CalTech
to raise four children, I had little time except to design crafts for fund
raisers for the schools and church. I took some oil painting classes and
enjoyed getting back to painting very much.

After my children were in school full-time I became the Commercial Property Manager for a major savings and loan, and traveled the state managing office
buildings and shopping centers. This again, left little time for artwork.
Now, as a retiree, I am finally getting to t he
paintings I
have always wanted to do, trying new mediums and experimenting
with styles to find my particular niche. I have much to learn, but truly
believe that God gives each one of us a part of His creative strain, and wants
us to brighten each day with His beauty.
