Gerda was born in Paraguay.  She moved to Sylmar, CA where she had a number of careers before coming to Art in 1989.  She studied at the Pasadena College of Design, West Lake Art Center, Valley College and privately as an apprentice to various master painters. 

Gerda became fascinated with the classic painting methods of the great masters and devoted herself to become an expert in the Renaissance technique with teacher and master painter Lance Richlin of Torrance, CA.  She loves painting and is happy to take commissions (portraits, etc.) upon request.
