"Ed deems himself an "exploratory" artist. He works with water color,
traditional oils, water-soluble oils, and acrylics. Ed has shown his
work at the SCAA gallery, and had a one-man show at the Valencia Library. He
was commissioned to do a painting of a scene from "The Sting", and a
portrait of a pet cat. He was also commissioned to create a mosaic chair.
Last year, he sold two mosaic birdhouses at the College of the Canyon's art
gallery show. He continues to work on an outdoor mural."

"Spring"
These two pieces were done in
two steps with acrylic.
First, I did a spray/splatter, spread, dab, impress technique.
When well dried, I applied the grass to Spring and the Snow to
Winter."Winter"

"Jacob"
Pensively anticipates his next mischievous adventure.
He is painted with the intent to create the vibrant skin and
hair of a child in both shadow and light. |
|

"Family"
I enjoy the fluidity and richness of oils,
blending them together and concentrating on soft linear lines. |

"Fireflies"
Illuminates the darkness with the iridescence and speed of the
flying insects one finds on a humid summer evening.

"Daytime In Spring Woods"
Expressed with a palate knife and brush. A bright, fanciful
interplay of insects,
plant growth, and water.

"Cape Cod"
One summer, on a boat ride from
mid-Cape to Nantucket, this peaceful scene of the boats
docked at a sandspit and in front of an old boat shack caught my
interest. I took many photos to use as reference. With
complete abandon, not worrying about details, I went on to
produce the painting using watercolors. I think I caught the
tranquility of the moment very well.
